Hey.
Here is the answer.
u = 0
a = 5 m/s^2
t1 =8 sec
so, v = u + a t
or, v = 0 + 5×8 =40 m/s
so, s = u t + 1/2 a t^2
or, s1 = 0 + 1/2 ×5× 8^2 = 160 m
from 8s to 12s (12-8=4s) , distance covered with uniform velocity v = 40m/s
so, s2= 40×4 = 160 m
s = s1 + s2 =160+160=320 m
Hence , distance covered in 12s from start is 160m.
Thanks.
