Question:-

A car start running from rest under uniform acceleration of 2.5m/s² for 8 second. The final velocity of car will be

  • A. 0
  • B. 2.5m/s²
  • C. 20m/s²
  • D. 25m/s²

Required Answer:-

Given:-

  • Initial velocity u = 0 m/s
  • Acceleration a = 2.5 m/s²
  • Time t = 8s

To Find:-

  • Final velocity (v) of the car.

Solution:-

We know that acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity

So,

a= v - ut

Rearranging the terms in the above equation we get,

 \boxed{\rm{\bold{v = u + at}}}

Where,

  • u is initial velocity
  • v is the final velocity
  • a is acceleration
  • t is the time period.

Substituting the values:-

v = 0 + 2.5 × 8

=> v = 20

Hence, final velocity of the car is 20m/s² (Option D)

Know More:-

There are three equations of motion that can be used to derive components such as displacement(s), velocity (initial and final), time(t) and acceleration(a). The following are the three equation of motion:

  • First Equation of Motion : v = u+at

  • Second Equation of Motion : s=ut+1/2×at^2

  • Third Equation of Motion : v^2=u^2+2as
