Answer

  • Final velocity = 65 m/s

Given

  • A car starting from rest accelerates to 12.5 m/s² in travelling a distance of 169 m

To Find

  • Final velocity

Concept Used

  • Equation of motion - 3

\bf \bigstar \;\; v^2-u^2=2as

where ,

  • a denotes acceleration
  • v denotes final velocity
  • u denotes initial velocity
  • s denotes distance
  • SI unit of acceleration is m/s²
  • SI unit of velocity is m/s
  • SI unit of distance is meter

Solution

Initial velocity , u = 0 m/s

[ ∵ starting from rest ]

Final velocity , v = ? m/s

[ Required to find ]

Acceleration , a = 12.5 m/s²

Distance , s = 169 m

Apply 3 rd equation f motion .

v² - u² = 2as

⇒ v² - (0)² = 2(12.5)(169)

⇒ v² - 0 = (25)(169)

⇒ v = √(25×169)

⇒ v = 5 × 13

v = 65 m/s

So , the final velocity attained by the car is 65 m/s

Answer:

AnSwEr : ThE FiNaL VeLoCiTy Is 6m/s

Explanation:

AcCoRdInG to the QuEsTion The Car sTarts from ResT So the IniTiall veLocity of The boDY Is ZerO And FiNalL VeloCity Is ( V )

Use The EquAtion of MoTioN 3 : v² - u² =2 as

HeRe The A is AccelRatIon , V Is FInal VelocIty , U is InItiall VeloCity s is DistaNce

So,

DIstAnce = 169 m

AccEleration = 12.5 m/s²

FiNal VeloCity = v

IniTiall VeloCity = 0

NoW, v² -u² = 2as

v² - 0²= 2×169m×12.5m/s²

v² = 25 × 169 m² / s²

v² = 5² × 13² m²/ s²

v = √5² ×13² m²/ s²

v = 65 m/s
