Answer:

Total distance covered is 700 metres.

Explanation:

WHEN THE CAR IS ACCELERATING:-

Intial Velocity = 0 m/s

Acceleration = 5 m/s²

Time taken = 10 s

By Equation :- s = ut + 1/2at²

we have, s = 250 m

Final velocity = u + at = 50 m/s

DURING UNIFORM MOTION:-

Distance = speed * Time = 50 m/s * 5 s = 250 m

DURING RETARDATION:-

Acceleration = (v - u) / t = -6.25 m/s²

∴ Distance = ut + 1/2at² = 200 m

TOTAL DISTANCE=

250 m + 250 m + 200 m =700 m.
