Given:-

  • Initial velocity, u = 0 m/s( As the cars starts from rest)
  • Final velocity, v = 20 m/s
  • Distance covered by the car, s = 100 m.

To Find:-

  • What is the acceleration of the car?

Solution :-

  • We know third law of motion is given by v² = u² + 2as.

Putting the given values :-

⇢v² = u² + 2as

⇢ (20)² = (0)² + 2×a× 100

⇢ 400 = 0 + 200a

⇢200a = 400

⇢ a = 400/200

a = 2 m/s²

  • Hence, the acceleration of the car is 2 m/s².
