Answer:

the total time traveled by the body. is = 4.5 seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

Let t be the total time taken of the journey....

as body is initially at rest , u=0.,

distance travelled by the body in last second .,

St= u+a/2(2t-1).

St=0+ a/2(2t-1).

distance travelled by the body in penultimate second .,

St-1= a/2(2(t-1)-1).

St/St-1=2t-1/2t-3.

4/3=2t-1/2t-3.

8t-12=6t-3.

2t=-3+12.

2t=9.

t=4.5 seconds.

Answer: Let T be the total time.

we know that, U=0

distance travelled by the body in the last second is

St= u+a/2(2t-1).

St=0+ a/2(2t-1).

distance travelled by the body in the penultimate second is

St-1= a/2(2(t-1)-1).

St/St-1=2t-1/2t-3.

4/3=2t-1/2t-3.

8t-12=6t-3.

2t=-3+12.

2t=9.

t=4.5 seconds.
