a=0.4m/s2

t=20s

u=0

s=ut+1/2at2

s=1/2(0.4)400

=80m

Given - Acceleration and time

Find - Distance

Solution - The equation of motion to be used here is - S = ut + 1/2at². In the formula, S is displacement, u is initial velocity, a is acceleration due to gravity and t is time.

Car starts from rest so initial velocity is 0. Hence, ut = 0.

Keep the values in formula to find the value of S.

S =  \frac{1}{2} \times 0.4 \times  {20}^{2}

Taking square and performing division

S = 0.2 \times 20 \times 20

Performing multiplication

S = 80 metres

Hence, the distance covered is 80 metres.
