A car starting from rest is accelerated at constant rate untill it attains a constant speed v. It is then retarded at a constant rate untill it comes to rest. Considering that the car moves with a constant speed for half of the time of total journey, the average speed of the car for the journey is

Hey mate hope this answer helps you!!!

V=distance

_______

time

Let the total time be t.

Average speed for 1st interval of t /4 is v/2

For 1st interval, s1 = 2/v × 2/t

Average speed for 3rd interval of t/4 is v/2

For 3rd interval, s3 = v/2 × t/2

For 2nd interval, s2 =v× t/2

Total distance d=s1+s2+s3

Total time is t

V av g=d/t = 3v/4
