GIVEN :

  • A CAR HAS STARTED FROM REST AND VELOCITY IN 5s IS 10m/s

TO FIND :

  • ACCELERATION OF CAR

SOLUTION :

THE INITIAL VELOCITY (u) OF CAR IS ZERO BECAUSE THEY HAVE STATED THAT CAR HAS STARTED FROM REST

u = 0 , v = 10m/s , t = 5 sec

SO FROM FIRST EQUATIONS OF MOTION i.e ,

v = u + at

 =  > 10 = 0 + a(5) \\  \\  =  > 10 = 5a \\  \\  =  > a = 2

ACCELERATION OF CAR = 2 m/s²

[ NOTE : HERE EQUATIONS OF MOTION OF MOTION ARE VALID SINCE THE CAR ACCELERATES UNIFORMLY . ]

=>10=0+a(5)

=>10=5a

=>a=2

∴ ACCELERATION OF CAR = 2 m/s²
