Given:

u= 0

v= 54km/HR= 15 m/s

t= 5s

a= (v-u)/t=(15-0)/5=3m/s^2

If car stops in 15s:

u=15m/s

v=0

t=15s

a= (v-u)/t= (0-15)/15= -1m/s^2 or

Retardation = 1m/s^2
