Question :-

A car starts from rest and has a uniform acceleration of 2 m/s² . Find the speed of the car after 5 seconds ?

\huge\red{ANSWER:-}

Given :-

A car starts from rest and has a uniform acceleration of 2 m/s² .

Required to find :-

Speed of the car after 5 seconds

Equation used :-

  • v = u + at

Concept used :-

Speed is a scalar quantity

Speed is a scalar quantitySpeed has only magnitude but not direction

Speed is a scalar quantitySpeed has only magnitude but not directionVelocity can become speed in some cases but speed can't become as velocity

Solution :-

Given information :-

A car starts from rest and has a uniform acceleration of 2 m/s²

we need to find the speed of the car after 5 seconds !

In order to find the speed of the car we need to use the equations of motion .

Here,

The required Equation is ;

  • v = u + at

here,

  • v = final velocity

  • u = initial velocity

  • a = acceleration

  • t = time taken

From the given information we can conclude that ;

Initial velocity of the car = 0 m/s

Since, the car is at rest

Similarly,

acceleration = 2 m/s²

Time = 5 seconds

Hence,

→ using the mentioned equation

→v=0m/s+2m/s2×5s

→v=0m/s+2m/s×5

→v=0m/s+10m/s

→v=10m/s

Therefore,

Speed of the car after 5 seconds = 10 m/s
