A car starts from rest and attains a velocity of 10 metre per second in 40 second the driver applies brakes and slows down the car to 5 M per second in 10 seconds find the acceleration of car in both the cases

Case 1

initial velocity, u= 0m/s

final velocity, v= 10m/s

time taken , t= 40 s

so, Acceleration= v-u/t

= 10-0/40

= 1/4

= 0.25m/s^2

initial velocity, u= 10m/s

final velocity, v= 5m/s

time taken, t= 10 second

Acceleration, a= 5 - 10/ 10

= -5/10

= -0.5m/s^2
