Given :
- Initial velocity = 0 m/s
- Acceleration = 2 m/s²
- Time = 5 s
To find :
- Speed of the car after 5 seconds
Knowledge required :-
→ First equation of motion -
- v = u + at
→ Third equation of motion -
- v² - u² = 2as
where,
- v = Final velocity
- u = Initial velocity
- a = Acceleration
- s = speed
Solution :
Firstly, we will find the final velocity using the first equation of motion.
⠀⠀⠀⇒ v = u + at
⠀⠀⠀⇒ v = 0 + (2 × 5)
⠀⠀⠀⇒ v = 0 + 10
⠀⠀⠀⇒ v = 10
- Final velocity of the car = 10 m/s
★ Speed of the car after 5 seconds = 10 m/s
