Here is the answer.
as V = u + at
so, v = 0+ 5×8=40 m / s
s = ut+1/2at^2=0+1/2×5×8×8=160 m
now t =4 sec (12-8 sec) , v =40 m/s
as motion is constant so, s = vt =40×4=160m
so, total distance= 160+160=320 m from rest
