We know that s = ut + 1/2 at^2

                        800 = 0 + 1/2 * a * (10)^2

                        800 = 1/2 * a * 100

                       800 = 50a

                        a = 16m/s^2.

Hpe this helps!

Acceleration of car = 16 m/

Explanation:

Given:

  • A car starts from rest (u) = 0
  • Distance covered by car (s) = 800m
  • Time taken by car (t) = 10 seconds

To Find:

  • What is the acceleration (a) = ?

Formula to be used:

  • S = ut + 1/2at²

Solution: By using Newton's second law of motion we can find the acceleration of the car

\implies{\rm } S = ut + 1/2at²

\implies{\rm } 800 = 0 x 10 + 1/2 x a x (10)²

\implies{\rm } 800 = 0 + 1/2 x a x 100

\implies{\rm } 800 = 0 + 50 x a

\implies{\rm } 800 = 50a

\implies{\rm } 800/50 = a

\implies{\rm } 16 m/ = a

Hence, The acceleration of the car is 16 m/s²

Other laws of motion are

  • v = u + at
  • v² = u² + 2as
