Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-
- Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s --(At rest)
- Time taken (t) = 5 seconds
- Acceleration (a) = 12 m/s²
- Force (F) = 14400 N
ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ :-
- Final velocity (v)
- Mass(m)
- Distance travelled (s)
sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-
On using (1) equation of motion, we get,
➦ v = u + at
➭ v = 0 + 12 × 5
➭ v = 60 m/s
Hence,
- Final velocity (v) = 60 m/s
Now,
On applying third equation of motion, we get,
➦ v² - u² = 2as
➭ (60)² - (0)² = 2×12 × s
➭ 3600 = 24s
➭ s = 3600/24
➭ s = 150 m
Hence,
- Distance travelled (s) = 150 m
Now,
We know that,
➦ Force (F) = Mass (m) × Acceleration (a)
➦ F = ma
➭ 14400 = m × 12
➭ 12m = 14400
➭ m = 14400/12
➭ m = 1200 kg
Hence,
- Mass (m) = 1200 kg
Therefore,
- Distance travelled (s) = 150 m
- Mass (m) = 1200 kg
