Question:-

A car starts from the rest and travels with an uniform acceleration. The car travels 100 m in 5s what will be it's final velocity.

Given:-

  • Car starts from rest.
  • Car travels with an uniform acceleration.
  • Car travels 100m in 5 sec.

To Find:-

  • Find the final velocity of the car.

Formulas to be used:-

  • v = u + at
  • - = 2as
  • s = ut + 1/2 at²
  • a = [v - u]/t

Solution:-

u = 0 ; s = 100 m ; t = 5sec ; a = ? ; v = ?

️ ➭ s = ut + 1/2 at²

️ ➭ 100 = 0 + 1/2 × a × 5 × 5

️ ➭ 100 = 12.5a

️ ➭ a = 100/12.5

️ ➭ a = 8m/s²

Now,

we have to find the final velocity (v)

️ ➭ v = u + at

️ ➭ v = 0 + 8(5)

️ ➭ v = 40m/s

Hence the final velocity is 40m/s.
