A car takes fuel burns it to produce energy moves and excrete smoke why can we not call a car a living thing

Because it does not have life. It cannot arrange fuel for itself of it's own, and fill up the fuel tank itself. The vehicle always needs someone to control it. Even if the car is ran by a GPS or Google, the car cannot,makes it's decision itself. Also if the car gets rusted or if needs maintenance, a human being or any other which is also made and programmed by human being is required. So car is not a human being.
