Correct Question ➪

If a car travelling at 20km/h speeds up to 60km/h in 6 seconds, what is its acceleration?

Correct Answer ➪

The equation is A(acceleration)= (Final velocity - Initial velocity)/ Time

Here ⇒

  • Final velocity = 60 km/hr = 16.7 m/s

  • Initial velocity = 20 km/hr = 5.6 m/s

  • Time = 6 seconds

→  A = (16.7–5.6)/6 = 1.85 m/s²

∴ Acceleration = 1.85 m/s²

Answer:

Given :-

  • Initial Velocity = 20 km/hr
  • Final Velocity = 60 km/hr
  • Time = 6 sec

To Find :-

Acceleration

Solution :-

As we know that

 \sf \: A =  \dfrac{v - u}{t}

Final velocity = 60 × 5/18 = 16.7 m/s

Initial Velocity = 20 × 5/18 = 5.6 m/s

Time = 6 sec

 \sf \: A =  \dfrac{16.7 - 5.6}{6}

 \sf \: A =  \dfrac{11.1}{6}

 \sf \: A = 1.85 \:  {ms}^{2}
