The car finally stops that means it is at rest at last.

final velocity = 0
.
according to first Kinematical equation ,

V = U + at

but the speed is retarded , so "a" will be negative.

V = U - at

but , V = 0.

so ,. U = at

a =. U ÷ t

a =. 28.8 ÷ 5.10


28.8 \div 5.10 = 5.64 \: \ \: m \: per \: sec \: square
