Given :-

A car travelling at a speed of 52 km/hr takes 6 hours to reach its destination.

To Find :-

The speed of the car such that the time taken by it to cover the same distance be 4 hours.

Solution :-

Here, In both the cases, the distance (destination of the car) would be same. So, First let us find the distance using the first case.

In case first, We have

  • Speed = 52 km/hr
  • Time taken = 6 hour

⇒ Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ Distance = 52 × 6

Distance = 312 km

Now, In the case 2, we have to find the speed of the car so that the time taken by the car be 4 hours. We have

  • Distance = 312 km
  • Time taken = 4 hours

⇒ Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ 312 = Speed × 4

⇒ Speed = 312 / 4

Speed = 78 km/hr

Hence, The speed of the car should be 78 km/h.
