Answer:

Correct option is

A

6 hours

Distance=Speed×Time

When speed is 40 kmph

Distance traveled by car =40×9

=360 km

When speed is 60 kmph

Time taken to complete the journey =

60

360

=6 hours

Answer:

  • The speed of the car should be 78 km/h.

Explanation:

Given :

  • A car traveling at a speed of. 52 km/hrs takes 6 hours to reach its destination.

To Find :-

  • We have to find out the speed of the if the journey is to be covered in 4 hours.

Basic Terms :-

  • Speed : Speed is the distance travelled by a body per unit of time.
  • Distance : Distance is defined to be the magnitude or size of displacement between two positions.
  • Time : Time is defined as the duration in which all things happen.

Formula Used :-

✪ Distance = Speed × Time ✪

Calculations :-

~ Here we are given that a car traveling at a speed of 52 km/hrs takes 6 hours to reach its destination. In both conditions the distance would be same. So firstly, using the 1st condition we will out the distance. And at last, after having the distance, we will find out the speed of the car using the information provided in 2nd condition.

According to the 1st condition, we have :-

  • Speed = 52 km/h.
  • Time taken = 6 hours.

⇒ Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ Distance = 52 × 6

Distance = 312 km.

  • Hence, the distance travelled in 1st condition is 320 km.

According to the 2nd condition, we have :-

  • Distance = 312 km.
  • Time taken = 4 hours.

⇒ Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ 312 = Speed × 4

⇒ Speed = 312/4

Speed = 78 km/h.

  • Hence, the speed of the car should be 78 km/h.
