• Distance travelled by truck = 180 km
• Time taken by truck = 4 hrs

To Find :

Which one either car or the truck travels faster?

Formula used :

$speed = \frac{distance}{time}$

Solution :

In case I,

$speed \: of \: car = \frac{120}{3} \: km {h}^{ - 1} \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = 40 \: km {h}^{ - 1}$

In case II,

$speed \: of \: truck = \frac{180}{4} \: km {h}^{ - 1} \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = 45\: km {h}^{ - 1}$

From case I and II, we can easily conclude that 45 kmh¯¹ is greater than 30 kmh¯¹.

Therefore, as the speed of truck is more than the speed of car so the truck will move faster than the car.
