Given :-

  • Car travelled 3times at the speed of 60km/h as long as it travelled at the speed of 40km/h
  • Total distance covered = 440km

To finD :-

  • How long the car travelled at the speed of 60km/h

Explanation :-

Let, the distance travelled at speed of 40km/h is x

So,

According to the given question,

distance travelled at 60km/h is 3 times as long as at the speed of 40km/ h ====> 3x

So,

Distance travelled at 40km/h = x

nd,

Distance travelled at 60km/h = 3x

Now,

x + 3x = 440km

4x = 440km

x = 440/4 = 110km

So,

x = 110km,

3x = 3×110 = 330km

Hence, our final answer is ===>

Distance travelled at speed of 40km/h = 110km

and,

Distance travelled at speed of 60km/h = 330km
