Answer :–

  • Time taken to completethe journey = 6 hours.

Given :–

  • First speed = 40 km/h.
  • Time = 9 hour.
  • Second speed = 60 km/h.

To Find :–

  • Time taken to complete the journey.

Solution :–

First, we need to find the distance travelled by a car.

We know that,

 \green{ \boxed{ \blue{distance = speed \times time}}}

We have,

  • Speed = 40 km/h.
  • Time = 9 hour.

 \longrightarrow40\:\dfrac{km}{ \cancel{hr}} \times 9 \:  \cancel{hr}

 \longrightarrow40 \: km \times 9

 \longrightarrow40 \times 9 \: km

 \longrightarrow360 \: km

Now we have,

  • The distance travelled by car = 360 km.
  • Speed = 60 km/h.

Time taken to complete the journey =  \sf \dfrac{Distance travelled}{Speed}

 \longrightarrow  \dfrac{36 \cancel0 \:  \cancel{km}}{6 \cancel0  \cancel{km} /h}

 \longrightarrow \dfrac{36}{6} h

 \longrightarrow \dfrac{6}{1} h

 \longrightarrow 6 \: h

Hence,

Time taken to complete the journey is 6 hours.
