Answer:

Explanation:

Solution,

Here, we have

Initial velocity, u = 10 m/s

Final velocity, v = 0

Acceleration, a = 1.25 m/s²

To Find,

Distance traveled, s = ?

Time taken, t = ?

According to the 3rd equation of motion,

We know that,

v² - u² = 2as

So, putting all the values, we get

v² - u² = 2as

⇒ (0)² - (10)² = 2 × 1.25 × s

⇒ 100 = 2.5s

⇒ 100/2.5 = s

s = 40 m

Hence, the ditance traveled by car is 40 m.

According to the 1st equation of motion,

We know that,

v = u + at

So, putting all the values again, we get

v = u + at

⇒ 0 = 10 + 1.25 × t

⇒ 10 = 1.25t

⇒ 10/1.25 = t

t = 8 seconds

Hence, the time taken by car is 8 seconds
