a car travels 10 km distance at a speed of 60 km/h and returns with a speed of 40 km/h. calculate its average speed for the whole journey

Average speed = total distance / total time
Time taken = dis/ speed
10/ 60= 1/6
Time taken while returning = 10/40= 1/4
Avg. Speed = 10+10/1/6+1/4
= 20/2+3/12
= 20*12/5
= 4*12
= 48km/h
