a car travels 100 km with a speed of 50 km/h and another 200 km with a speed of 20km/h. Find the average speed of car

In first case car travels distance d' = 100Km

and it's speed is 50 Km/h

so we can find T'= distance/speed = 2h

Second case

distance travelled d" = 200 Km

speed = 20Km/h

therefore time taken in second case t" = 200/20 = 10 h

Now total time taken T=t'+t"

T = 2+10 = 12 h

Because average speed = Total distance / total time

therefore,

Average Speed = d'+d"/T

which is = 100+200/12 = 300/12 = 25Km/h

Therefore,

Average speed = 25 Km/h.
