if car travels 120 km in 150 minutes then a car with same speed takes 50min to cover the 40km distance
5/2*60=150 min.now 120 km is covered in 150 minutes. 1km can be travelled in 150/120 . hence 40 km can be covered in 150/120*40= 50 minutes.
