Question :

A car travels 165 km in 3 hours. How long will it take to travel 44 0 km ?

Solution :

Here , first of all , we need to find the speed factor using Speed-Distance formula . And , we are given distance and we have speed , so again with Speed-Distance formula , we can find Time .

Distance , D = 165 km

Time , T = 3 h

Speed , S = ? km/h

We know that ,

:\implies \sf Speed=\dfrac{Distance}{Time}

:\implies \sf S= \dfrac{D}{T}

:\implies \sf S=\dfrac{165}{3}

:\implies \sf \orange{S=55\ km/h}\ \; \bigstar

Now , we have ,

Speed , S = 55 km/h

Distance , D = 440 km

Time , T = ? h

:\implies \sf Speed = \dfrac{Distance}{Time}

:\implies \sf 55 = \dfrac{440}{T}

:\implies \sf T= \dfrac{ 440 }{ 55 }

:\implies \sf \pink{T=8\ h}\ \; \bigstar

It will takes 8 hrs to travel 440 km .

Given :-

  • A car travels 165 km in 3 hours. How long will it take to travel 44 0 km?

Solution :-

Here, first of all, we need to find the speed factor using speed distance formula. And, we are given distance and we have speed, so again with Speed - Distance formula, we can find Time.

Distance, (D) = {\sf\underline{165~km}}

Time, (T) = {\sf\underline{3~h}}

Speed, (S) = {\sf\underline{? \: km/h}}

We know that,

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \: \: \:  :\implies{\sf{Speed = \frac{Distance}{Time}}}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \: :\implies{\sf{S  =  \frac{D}{T} }}

 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \::\implies{\sf{S  =  \frac{165}{3}}}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   :\implies{\sf\underline\red{S\:=\:55\:km/h}} \large{\bf\green{✓}}

Now, We have,

Speed, (S) = {\sf\underline{55\:km/h}}

Distance, (D) = {\sf\underline{440\:km}}

Time, (T) = {\sf\underline{?\:h}}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:\:\::\implies{\sf{Speed  =  \frac{Distance}{Time}}}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \: :\implies{\sf{55  =  \frac{440}{T}}}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:\:\:\: :\implies{\sf{T  =  \frac{440}{55} }}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \: :\implies{\sf\underline\blue{T\:=\:8\:h}} \large{\bf\green{✓}}

Hence,

  • It will takes 8 hrs to travel 440 km
