Average speed = Total Distance Covered / Total Time Taken.

Time Taken to travel the first 40km = 1 h.
Time Taken to travel the next 30 km / (20km/h) = 1.5 h.

Total Distance Travelled = 40+ 30 = 70 km.
Total Time Taken = 1+1.5 = 2.5
So, Average Speed = 70 km/ 2.5 h
= 28 km/h.
