A car travels 40.0km north in 30minutes, then 80.0km east in 40minutes. What is the cars displacement?

Answer: Net Displacement = 40\sqrt{5} \\

Explanation:

First of all, the time doesnot matter as the distances are already given .

so then the car travels 40km in north and then 80 km in east .

Therefore, it will form a right angle triangle .

So,displacement = the hypotenuse of the right angle triangle.

i.e.

displacement = \sqrt{40^{2} + 80 ^{2} }

therefore answer = 40\sqrt{5} \\
