the average speed for the entire journey.​

avg. \: speed =  \frac{total \: distance \: covered}{total \: time \: taken}     \\ =  \frac{40km + 40km}{30min + 40min}  \\  =  \frac{80km}{70min}  \\  =  \frac{80}{70}  \times  \frac{1000}{60}   \\ =   \frac{400m}{21s}  \\  = 19.047 \: m/s
