Average speed of the car is 60km/hr
Total journey=(70*1.5)+(50*3)+105
=360km
Total time=1.5+3+1.5=6
We know that S=VT
Here S=360,T=6
Hence V=60km/h

Given,

A car travels 70 km/h for one and half hours, then it travels for 3 hours at 50 km/h, and after that, it covers 105 km in one and half hours.

To find,

The average speed of the car for the whole journey.

Solution,

We can simply solve this numerical problem using the following process:

Mathematically,

speed (s) = distance traveled (d)/time of journey(t)

=> Distance traveled (d) = speed (s) x time of journey(t)

According to the question,

Distance covered by the car in the first phase

= speed (s) x time of journey(t)

= 70 km/h × 1.5 hours

= 105 Km

Distance covered by the car in the second phase

= speed (s) x time of journey(t)

= 50 km/h × 3 hours

= 150 Km

Distance covered by the car in the third phase

= 105 Km

So, the total distance covered in the complete journey by the car

= 105 Km + 150 Km + 105 Km

= 360 Km

Total time of the whole journey

= 1.5 hours + 3 hours + 1.5 hours

= 6 hours

So, the average speed of the car for the whole journey

= (total distance covered in the complete journey by the car)/(total time of the whole journey)

= (360 Km)/(6 hours)

= 60 Km/hr

Hence, the average speed of the car for the whole journey is 60 Km/hr.
