A car travels a distance of 50 km with a velocity of x km/h for two hours. Then next 60 km with velocity of 20 km/h. Calculate (i) x (ii) total time taken to cover the distance (iii) average speed

of car.​

Explanation:

I)Given car travels 50 km in 2 hours hence speed = d/t = c =50/2 = 25 km/h

ii)Total time =

2 hrs + 60/20 = 2 + 3 = 5 hrs

iii) avg speed = 2ab/(a+b)

= 2 x 25 x 20 /(25 + 20)

= 1000/45 = 200/9

= 22.2 km/h
