A car travels along a straight line for first half time with speed 40 Km/h and the second half time with speed 60Kmph. Find the average of speed of the car.

Hi..

Speed of the car during 1st half time (s1) = 40 km/ hr

Speed of the car during 2nd half time (s2) = 60 km/ hr

We know that,

Since Average speed (sa ) = s1 + s2 / 2,

Therefore Average speed of the car = 40 + 60 / 2

  = 100 / 2

 = 50 km/ hr

Therefore average speed of the car is 50 km/hr....
