A car travels along a straight line with speed V1 for first half time and with speed V2 for second half time. Find average speed of a car.​

Avg. Speed = \frac{V_{1} + V_{2}}{2}

Speed of car in 1st half time=V1

Speed of car in 2nd half time =V2

So.. It travelled with different speeds in same intervals of time

Therfore, t1=t2=t

Average speed =V1t1+V2t2/t1+t2

=V1t+V2t/t+t

=(V1+V2) t /2t

=V1+V2/2
