Answer:

Q: A car travels at 40 kph for 2 hours and 60 kph for 3 hours. What is its average speed?

40 kph * 2 hr = 80 km

60 kph * 3 hr = 180 km

2 hr + 3 hr = 5 hr

80 km + 180 km = 260 km

avg vel = 260 km / 5 hr

avg vel = 52 kph

Answer:

Actual distance travelled by Sachin and Sameer from A to E = AB + BC + CD + DE = 3 + 4 + 5 + 3 = 15 km

Displacement from A to E = AB + BD + DE = 3 + 3 + 3 = 9 km

Speed of the motorbike from A to E=Total distance travelled from A to ETotal time taken from A to E=151=15 km/h

Velocity of the motorbike from A to E=Total displacement from A to ETotal time taken from A to E=91=9 km/h

Yes, this can be called the average velocity of the motorbike from A to E.
