Given that,

1st 30 km uniform speed is (u1) = 30 km/h

2nd 40 km uniform speed is ( u2 ) = 40 km/h

Total distance ( d ) = 30 + 40 = 70 km

Time taken in 1st time = d / t = 30/30 also, 1 h/1 = 60/1 = 60 min

Time taken in 2nd time = d/t = 40/40 also, 1 h/1 = 60/1 = 60 min

Total time = 60 + 60 = 120 min = 120/70 h

Average speed = 70/120/70 = 70 * 70 /135 = 36.3 ( 36.2962962963  ) km/h
