Let the total distance be d

Then two halfs of total journey are d/2 each.

S͟p͟e͟e͟d͟ = D͟i͟s͟t͟a͟n͟c͟e͟ / T͟i͟m͟e͟

80 =( d/2 ) / t1
t1 = d / 160

40 = ( d/2 ) / t2
t2 = d / 80

Average Speed = Total Distance / Total Time
= ( d ) / ( d/160 + d/80 )
= d / ( d + 2d ) / 160
=( d / 3d ) × 160 = 53.3 km/h
