A car travels at an uniform speed.
At 2pm it is a distance of 180km and at 6pm it is at 360km. Using section formula, find the distance it will reach 12 midnight

Since, at 2 pm the car covered the distance = 180 km

Also, at 6 pm, the distance covered by the car = 360 km

Thus, the distance the car covered from 2 pm to 6 pm = 360 - 180 = 180 km

And, the time is taken from 2 pm to 6 pm = 6 - 2 = 4 hours

Since, the car is traveled at the uniformed speed,

Hence, the speed of car = 180/ 4 = 45 km/h   ( speed = distance/time)

Again the time between 6 PM to 12 AM ( mid night ) = 12 - 6 = 6 hours,

Therefore, the distance it covered from 6 PM to 12 AM = 45 × 6 = 270 km

⇒ The distance, It will reach at 12 PM = distance it covered at 6 PM + distance it covered from 6 PM to 12 AM

= 360 + 270

= 630 km
