a car travels certain distance its average velocity is 20 m/sec and its final velocity is 25 m/sec. find its initial velocity .​

We have,

Average velocity = 20 m/s

Final velocity = 25 m/s

Let, initial velocity = u

We know,

 \boxed{v_{av} = \frac{v + u}{2} }

∴ (25 m/s + u)/2 = 20 m/s

⇒ 25 m/s + u = 20 m/s × 2 = 40 m/s

⇒ u = 40 m/s - 25 m/s

⇒ u = 15 m/s (answer).
