formula for average speed = (s + s')/(t + t')

formula for average velocity = (s + s')/(t + t')

let the distance be x km

Given information :

speed = s = 50kmh^(-1)

speed = s'= 80kmh^(-1)

so,by the speed and constant distance ,we can find the time of both journeys.

.i.e

time taken = t = x/50kmh^(-1)

time taken = t' = x/80kmh^(-1)

Average speed :-

(s + s')/(t + t')

= (x + x)/x/50 + x/80

= 2x/130x/400

= 2x/130x × 400

2/13 × 400

800/13

61.5 km/h

Average velocity:-

Here,in this condition average velocity will be zero as the displacement as zero.

x____________________y

-------- >

50km/h 80km/

<----------

Here ,we can see that the car is has reached it's initial position.

so,here the displacement is zero.
