Given:-

  • The car travels the half of journey with a constant speed of 40 km/hr.
  • And the second half journey with the speed of \sf{v} km/hr.
  • The average speed of the car in whole journey is 48 km/hr.

To Find:-

  • The value of \sf{v} .

Solution:-

Here, Average speed =  \sf{\dfrac{Sum\ of\ both\ speeds}{2}}

                 48              =  \sf{\dfrac{40 + v}{2}}

              48 × 2           =  \sf{40 + v }

             96 - 40          = v

                                v = 56 km/hr

Hence, The speed of the car in the second half journey is 56 km/hr.
