Answer: 6km

Explanation:

R=√(10²+8²-2×10×8 cos 37°)

R=√(164-128)

R=√36

R=6km

And if you go on drawing the diagram, you will find that the displacement is in West.

   The displacement of the car is 6km and the distance is 18km

Given:

The velocity of the car is 60kmph and in an angle at 53 speed is10 minutes

To Find:

The distance and the displacement of the car

Solution:

For first 8 minutes ,

S1 = v1t = 8000m

For next 10 minutes,

S2 = v2t = 10,000

Total displacement ,

S = -10000cos 53 i + 10000 sin53j - 8000j

= -6000i

Displacement is 6Km west

Distance of the car,

Distance = 8000 + 10000

Distance =  18Km

The displacement of the car is 6km and the distance is 18km
