A car travels with a speed of 50 km/h in the 1st hour and 100 km/h in the 2nd hour. What is the total distance covered by the car in the two hours?

let the car travels 50km/hr in 1st hr be

t1=1 ,speed1=S1=50

and in second hr be t1=2 ,S2=100

formula : distance = speed*time

solution:

distance =speed *time

distance=50*1

distance=50km...........(equation 1)

for second hr

distance=speed *time

distance=100*2

distance=200km............ (equation 2)

by adding equation 1 &2

distance 1=50

distance 2=200

therefore by adding

the total distance covered by car is 250 kilometers
