A car travels with a uniform velocity of 25 m/s for 5 seconds. The brakes are then applied and the car is uniformly retarded and comes to rest in further 10 seconds. Find (I) the distance which the car travels before the brakes are applied , (ii) the retardation and (iii) the distance travelled by the car after applying the brakes.

Answer:
I) 125 m
II) 2.5 m/ s²
III) 125 m
Explanation:
1) Distance= Velocity × time
so, Distance = 25 × 5 = 125 m
2)Retardation (-ve acceleration)
V=U+at
V=0 , U=25 m/s, T=10 sec
a= -2.5 m/s
3)S=ut+1/2 at²
U= 25 m/s , T=10 s , a= -2.5m/s²
so S= 125 m.
Hope it will help you......
