Given :

Mass of car , M = 1200 kg .

Distance covered in 5 seconds , d = 40 m .

Initial velocity , u = 0 m/s .

To Find :

The work done .

Solution :

We know , by equation of motion

s=ut+\dfrac{at^2}{2}\\\\40=0\times 5+ \dfrac{a\times 5^2}{2} \\\\a=3.2 \ m/s^2

Now , work done is given by :

W=Fd\\W=m\times a \times d \\W=2100\times 3.2\times 40 \ J \\W=268800\ J \\W= 268.8\ kJ

Therefore , the work done is 268.8 kJ .

Hence , this is the required solution .
