A car weighing 1500kg moving with a velocity of 60 km/hr retards uniformly to come to rest in 20 sec. Find the change in momentum in 1 sec.​

Answer:

u = 60km/h = 50/3 m/s

v = 0

t=20 s

v =u tat = 0

> 0-50/3 +20a

> a=-5/6

Now force, F=ma = 1500 x (-5)/6 = -1250 N

F= change in momentum / time > -1250 = change in momentum/1 > change in momentum=-1250 kgm/s
