Question :

A car weighting 500 kg working against a resistance of 500 N                  accelerates from rest to 20m/s in 100 m. Find the work done by the engine of the car

Given :

weight of car = 500 kg

Force = 500 N

Initial velocity = 0 m/s

Final velocity = 20 m/s

Distance = 100 m

Work = ?

Formula :

             Work (W) = F.S (N.m)

Answer:

                 50000 N.m

Explanation:

Since Work = Force*Displacement

So W = 500 * 100

=> W = 50000 N.m

Hope helps you...
